Testing 1995
Hello guys and enthusiasts of the probably most exciting season of modern F1,
I am a 36-year old guy of Austria and I have been watching F1 since 1994. So 1994 and 1995 were the first two seasons I watched. So You can imagine that these two seasons have an outstanding relevance in my personal F1-life. Computer racing accompanied me since 1986, in the ancient times with C64, PC racing (Grand Prix, Grand Prix 2). But these simulations haven´t met my personal idea of a "perfect simulation". In the 2000s I finally drove Grand Prix 4 with several mods. And for the first time my biggest wish was fulfilled: The seasons 1994and 1995 were developed, but the physics of Grand Prix 4 were (compared to rfactor) poor.
I remember - when I was a 16 year old buy I had the imagination and the dream to drive the 1995 F1 beasts via PC simulation and: nearly 20 years later this wish probably/HOPEFULLY could be fulfilled.
1995: great rememberings --> the different car designs, many "classic" teams (Minardi, Pacific, Simtek), Hart V8, Yamaha V10, Ferrari V12, Renault V10 .... Jean Alesis only victory, the innovative McLaren MP4-10, the farce wit Nigel Mansell and McLaren, epic Grand Prix (Spa, Nürburgring), THE two collisions between Schumacher and Hill ....
There is one point I want to mention: Exactly today 20 years ago the Austrian Simtek driver Roland Ratzenberg died in Imola and of course on 01 05 94 still the most exciting pilot ever died, please remember of these two great persons. The death of these two drivers wasn´t senseless, the result was the technical reglement of 1995 and so the circle closes to drive the cars of the first step into a much more "saver F1" would be for myself a great gift and honour.
Best regards GRX
